Sculpt - Orc/Troll
An update after almost 2 years. Found some time and more importantly the inclination. Started off as a Troll and ended in between a Troll and an Orc. mmmmm. Base model created in maya and then worked in Zbrush.
Hope to add a few weapons and get him into a pose.

Inspiration Frazetta WIP
These are WIP adaptations of Frank Frazetta's Lord of the Rings. Wanted the image to work not just for one particular camera angle but for it to be viable in all views. The base mesh was created in Maya and then reposed and detailed in Zbrush. All sculpts are done with a mouse and missed the precision of a waccom.......hence some of the broken strokes as well.
Ane here is the masterpiece which was the source of inspiration as well as reference.

WIP Face
A quick sculpt in Z brush from Z spheres.
An update : Finally did some texturing work on the face courtesy Z brush and some free time. Way to go yet.
This was rendered using Ambient Occlusion . The ' Master Plan ' is to take it into Zbrush for further skin detailing.
The very first 3d package I learnt was 3d studio release 3 back in 1995-96. Creating an object as simple as a chair was major achievement then( my favorite object used to be a ball :) ). Can still vividly recall the blue color interface and shifting between the 2d shaper and the 3d lofter menus. Nothing in 3d is a major achievement now with software capabilities going thro the roof.
Another HEAD.
Modeled in Maya and detailed in Z brush.
